Texas Apartments For Rent

If Texas were in Europe, it would be its own country, because that's how big and independent it is. Everything is big in the Lone Star State, including the economy. It is America's biggest supplier of oil, beef and cotton. America's space industry is centered there along with high tech industries and natural gas production making major contributions. Agriculture still plays a major role in the economy. Texas is a whopping 267,000 square miles of land, plenty of space to literally get lost in.

The cost of living in Texas is low enough to make it the fourth most affordable state in the Union. Overall apartment rents run about 20% below the national average. Apartments are also plentiful in the big urban metro areas of Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio to name just a few.

Houston is home to about 2 million people. It is a blend of big city diversity and down to earth southwestern charm and hospitality. This city boasts a thriving economy with a vibrant and constantly changing downtown. The year round climate is mild adding to its livability. Most apartments are affordably priced with plenty of apartments at either end of the scale. The west and southwest of the city are considered affluent, but sprinkled with affordable rentals. South and southeast of downtown are where most go for the bargain rentals. The average rental will cost about $715 per month with utilities averaging about $100 per month.

Dallas is Texas' second largest city. It prides itself on being both a cultural and education center. It is home to many institutions of higher learning including SMU, and the University of Texas at Dallas to name just two. Dallas is of course famous for its sports teams, the Cowboys and Mavericks. It also has a pro hockey team and the Rangers baseball team. Expect to pay around $750 per month in apartment rent with utilities running you about $100 per month.

Austin is the state capital and home to high tech, computer technology research companies. Austin is very famous for its thriving music scene featuring all genre of music. It is home to the famous PBS show Austin City Limits. Like Dallas, rents average right around $750 a month while utilities are a little lower, coming at about $90 per month.

Prior to making your move, there are several things to do to make the transition much easier. After you've done your research, create a renter's profile that your can hand out to landlords or rental agents in charge of where you want to live. Make sure that your profile has all the correct information both personal, and professional. It is okay to include references and phone numbers so that they can easily verify your info.
